Bio

A native of the Washington, D.C. area, Paul Haring has been making pictures for 19 years. Paul is an award-winning photojournalist, specializing in weddings, news, and people and events.

Paul works as a photo editor and photographer for Catholic News Service in Washington. Founded in 1920, CNS is the oldest and largest religious news agency in the world.

Prior to joining CNS, Paul spent almost five years as a photographer covering the U.S. military, winning several photojournalism awards. He was one of the first photographers on the scene of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the Pentagon. His historic images from this day have been seen around the world, and can be viewed on this website.

Paul has also freelanced for various daily and weekly newspapers and magazines. His photojournalism work has taken him throughout the United States and to several international destinations.

Paul's background in photojournalism, especially covering religion, has helped him develop a discreet style and an eye for capturing dynamic images from ceremonies such as weddings, baptisms and other sacred events. Paul enjoys photographing people and finding the beauty in life.

Paul and his wife Ann live in Alexandria, Virginia.
